About the project

clustering_00 is an art project that intends to go deeply into the rich symbiosis of the visual arts and the architecture through the concept ‘cluster’ (agglomeration). This intention leans on the evidence of which all the facets of art are loaded with architectonic concepts.
An important aim of clustering as a general project, is to share your way of being in and to be connected to the world with other people in different parts of the planet, everything with a concrete cluster as a conceptual framework that is going to condition your answer and is going to constitute itself the structure of a new cluster or an ‘extended’ cluster with audio-visual ‘objects’ and personal sensations.
The project uses, then, the image of a cluster as a starting-point for the creation of a collective work. In front of that image, you will have to take one from the following decisions:
(1) Enter the cluster and watch and listen to what there is outside;
(2) Or stay outside the cluster and watch and listen to what there is inside from that position (through some hole or crack in his ‘wrapping’, that is to say, in the image that represents it).

If you want to collaborate with clustering_00, you must send to zdi_project@yahoo.es (pointing out Ref.: clustering_00 in ‘Subject’) any document that reflects what you feel –what you can hear or see– from inside or outside the cluster which is included in this text. A sound, a photo or a video is preferable to any other format, since the project wants to achieve the collective construction of an audio-visual piece (and interactive), that, almost certainly, will be exhibited in Madrid next october.
Some of the guidelines you can bear in mind in order to prepare and send your files are, mainly:
(a) Sounds: you can record them in any format (wav, mp3, flac...) and with any device (digital videocamera, digital recorder, mobile...), and they will last between 15 and 30 seconds;
(b) Photos: you can send them in any format (tif, jpg, bmp...), they will have a resolution between 150 and 300 ppp, and the size will not exceed 2 Mb;
(c) Videos: you can record them in any format (avi, mpeg, mov...) and with any device (digital videocamera, digital recorder, mobile, webcam...), they will last between 15 and 30 seconds, and the size will not exceed 7 Mb;
(d) You can email us a sound and/or a photo and/or a video until the end of september. If you are going to attach more than one file, please save them first into a folder and zip it (zip or rar formats are allowed). This will help us to save time while downloading your files.

So, just in case we didn’t speak plainly before, you have to imagine that you are outside or inside the cluster we attach to this e-mail: a group of windows in the façade of an old building, you have to choose one of those windows, take the decision of getting into the building and tell us what you can hear and see from that window, or not getting into the building and stay outside but, even so, you will have to choose a window and tell us what you may hear and see inside that room. Take a photo, record a sound or a video which reflects whatever you have heard and listened after that experience, and send them to us (zdi_project@yahoo.es) according to the mentioned guidelines. Anyway, tell us which window did you choose (bc, ca...). All the documentation received will be organized in order to create a work of art made by, we hope so!, dozens of people all around the world.
